Apple Cinnamon Stout Crisp
Ingredients:
4 – 12 oz. bottles Alaskan Stout
8 cups dehydrated Granny Smith apples
5 cups brown sugar
3 cups granulated sugar
2 cups flour
2 cups oats
1 stick butter
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg.
Instructions:
Open first bottle and consume at leisure.In medium heavy duty saucepan, combine 2 bottles Alaskan Stout with 2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup granulated sugar and ½ of the cinnamon. Over medium heat, stirring constantly, cook for one hour or until desired consistency for drizzling.In large heavy duty pot, combine one bottle Alaskan Stout with 2 cups brown sugar, 2 cups granulated sugar, ½ tsp. cinnamon and the nutmeg. Heat on medium until all sugars dissolve. Add apples and simmer until mixture thickens and apples are rehydrated.In small bowl, combine flour, oats, remaining cinnamon, brown sugar and butter together until mixture is crumbly and well incorporated.To assemble, butter a 13 x 9 glass pan and add apple mixture. Crumble topping onto apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 – 30 minutes or until top is golden brown. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream and a cold Alaskan Stout.
